Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu was raided by the Income Tax department on March 3. Along with the actress, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s residence was also raided by the IT department. Days after the IT raid, the actress broke her silence with a threaded tweet on Twitter. She addressed all the reports and rumours surrounding her and the IT raids that were conducted. In an interview now, the Thappad actress opened up about the day she was raided and appreciates Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s tweet on the IT raids.

Speaking with NDTV, Taapsee Pannu shared details about the day she was raided by the Income Tax department. The actress mentioned she answered all the questions asked by the IT officers. She revealed that her family and she co-operated with the IT department. In the interview, the actress said that she cannot confirm why she was raided. She continued, “When IT raids happen, there is no option but to follow procedure. If there anything wrong it will come out, I can't hide anything. If I have done something wrong, I will serve the punishment.”

Moving on, the Naam Shabana actress said that it was nice of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to say that the raid was a procedure and it should not be sensationalized. Taapsee appreciated the Finance Minister’s tweet. Meanwhile, after the raids, Pannu had reacted to the incident. She also took a dig at the Sitharaman for her statement about raids conducted in 2013. Taapsee had tweeted, “My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister,” she added, “P.S- “not so sasti” anymore.”

For the unversed, during an interaction with the media at the Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC), Sitharaman said, "First of all, I am not commenting on any A or B individual. (But) since the names were taken, (I want to say) the very same names were raided in 2013".
